Shabbat

On Friday night students gather for food, fun, and friends.  To honor Shabbat everyone wears white and brings something for the Tzedakah Box.  We light the Shabbat Candles, sing Shalom Aleichem, make Kiddush and sing HaMotzi over homemade Challah.  There's also a Kabbalat Shabbat Service every week before dinner for those who would like to attend.

And when the weather's gorgeous during the winter, nothing beats Shabbat on the Beach....  Yes, we have a beach on campus.

Birthright

Every year Eckerd College students take part in the Suncoast Hillels'  Winter or Summer Birthright Trip to Israel.

The trip is FREE, but the memories are priceless.

If you're a certified scuba diver, Eckerd Hillel & Scubi Jew created the Israel Underwater Birthright Trip.  The Underwater trip is a national trip, but the majority of participants come from Eckerd College.  If you would like more information for either trip contact Rabbi Ed at rosente@eckerd.edu

Jewish Learning

There's a lot of Jewish learning at Hillel. Whether it's a semester long introduction to Kabbalah, or Torah on Tap in Triton's Pub, there are always opportunities to learn something about Judaism or Jewish heritage that they never taught you in Hebrew School.

Check the Calendar for specific programs.
